Jacques Thévenet (1891-1989)

Painter, engraver and illustrator born in Montquin in Morvan.Parti for a legal career, he finally decides to follow his vocation for the Fine Arts and worked at the Académie Julian from 1910 to 1912.  It executes illustrations for works by Maurois, Roger Martin du Gard and Giono.
He underwent about 1920 the influence of Dunoyer de Segonzac. He paints figures and still lifes, but it is especially landscape.
He participated in many group exhibitions in France and abroad and made several solo exhibitions. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and the Tuileries in Amsterdam and Tokyo. Some of his works include the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. The Municipal Museum of The Hague has to vase with daisies and the former Luxembourg Museum in Paris Valley.
