Colorist painter and virtuoso draftsman, he crosses the second part of the twentieth century by affirming the figurative vocation of art. Protagonist of the Young Painting, he was consecrated during his lifetime alongside Bernard Buffet or Jean Jansem. The Crécy gallery pays homage to him with the exceptional presentation of unpublished and major works. With more than 100 oil paintings, watercolors, drawings and ceramics, this retrospective exhibition constitutes a representative panorama of the artist's entire production. Taking into account the particular sanitary circumstances, for the safety of all, the opening will not take place. The exhibition will be open to the public under usual conditions after confinement. It will also be possible to book (by phone or email) a personalized tour of the exhibition: the gallery will be fully privatized. A digital catalog of photographs of the works in high resolution is available on request, in addition to the website. As soon as the health context permits, a conference on the life and work of Jean Commère will be offered to you.
