Qualified by Anatole France as "Michelangelo of trees and peaceful countryside" he declared: "Personally, I did not get rid of the obsession with greens until I replaced them with grays or blues. the range is endless. This allowed me later to find warm greens that meet all needs. Corot was par excellence the one who triumphed over the greens and especially the spinach greens.
