Commode Dauphinoise d epoque Louis XIV

Louis XIV period "Dauphinoise" chest of drawers, inlaid with walnut, burl of green ash, rosewood, rosewood, native woods and light wood fillets on a pine frame. Curved on the front, it has large projections at the back in the extension of the uprights ending in flared feet. The entirely inlaid top presents a symmetrical composition of interlacing cartouches and foliage forming contrasting reserves, in the center a stylized foliage pattern. The edge of the top is made of walnut or olive wood. It opens with three rows of drawers taking up the decor register in marquetry. The sides inlaid with diamond patterns in geometric frames. Movable “sea horse” pull handles and bronze keyholes. Dauphinois work, close to the productions of Thomas Hache. circa 1715-1720
Provenance: private collection of an amateur from Ile-de-France.
In very good original condition, it was restored by a master cabinetmaker a few years ago. C
