Secretary In Cabinet Louis XVI

Cabinet secretary with rectangular support height, finely inlaid with amaranth, rosewood, rosewood, mahogany, precious wood and stained wood, decorated with flowers, fruits, interlacing and geometric patterns. It opens with a drawer in the upper part revealing a sliding bookshelf wrapped in leather, a cutter discovering four drawers and a locker, and in the lower part by a secret drawer opening by a concealed mechanism. The flap is adorned at its center with a salient medallion adorned with a flower basket decoration in a frame. It has a beautiful gilded bronze ornamentation such as chopsticks, draw rings, rosettes and keyholes. The lower part is surrounded by a large molding in solid rosewood. It rests on elegant tapered and fluted feet adorned with laurel wreath facades, ending in chiselled and gilded bronze hooves with vegetal decoration. Gray marble top Sainte-Anne molded. Work Louis XVI, (circa 1780) Unstamped, It is likely that it is a foreign cabinet maker (German or Swedish) having worked in a large Parisian workshop.
